Polaroid Memories

photo 3

It’s been many years since we’ve used a Polaroid camera and like anything we own, we sometimes take it for granted. After watching a couple of documentaries about Polaroid, I felt kind of sad that it is gone…for the most part. It may not be a part of how we share and document our lives anymore but looking through the actual photos is still very much something we love doing! I was inspired to dig up every single Polaroid photo we had taken and put them into one nice album in chronological order. I have a little bit of work to do here.

These are the two documentaries (trailers) that led me down this path.

  1. I think it’s funny how the various phone apps now emulate those vintage photo look and feel. I like you sort of miss the simplicity of the camera and the anticipation of the photo as it came to life right there in your hands. Oh the good ‘ol days.

  2. I totally agree. There is something tacitly and beautiful about paper and holding “real” photographs in your hands. And Polaroids had a very special feeling. Looks like you captured a lot of lovely family pictures with your Polaroid camera.
