I had the pleasure of leading Steve Harper’s Ripple Event on a photo walk about last night. My husband and I have been doing this for years just for the simple fun of doing something different on a date night. My girlfriends and my daughters also get out with me to do these photo walk abouts. Afterwards we always stop for lunch or dinner and talk about what we discovered and share our photos. This is not about capturing award winning photos, but it is about slowing down and capturing images of things you may pass by every day and never really notice. It’s all in the details and it’s all about the simple joy of creating art!
“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast – you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.” Eddie Cantor
“If you are trying to grow a diverse, creative team, you don’t need to bring your employees to the Caribbean to keep them learning. Invite guest speakers to your office. Go to events focusing on topics that are not strictly related to your industry and bring some of your employees along. Watch a few of the many incredible TED talks online. Remember, one of the best ways to learn is by taking your team members out of their comfort zone and embracing new ideas — and you’ll see results. Focusing on a topic out of the norm can bring renewed vigor to everyday activities.” Related: Richard Branson on Being Richard Branson Read the whole article here: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/225866
“Travel is the only context in which some people ever look around. If we spent half the energy looking at our own neighborhoods, we’d probably learn twice as much.” Lucy R. Lippard
