Last week, Christine Fish joined me on my “Be a Tourist” creativity session. This session took place on South Congress, in Austin, TX and we focused on the alphabet photo shoot. The point of this was to look for the alphabet in nature and architectural details along South Congress.
“So much of the creative process for me involves looking at the world from a different perspective, engaging a wide circle of friends, acquaintances, and other artists, and solving problems by asking “what if?” or “why not?” Maria’s “Be a Tourist” workshop taps all of those approaches. I so thoroughly enjoyed looking for the alphabet in nature and architecture–a fun exercise that has had me looking at the world around me in new ways for many days since.” Christine Fish
That evening, I came home and composed this message to my husband who was away on business. It was fun to gather the letters from photos I had just taken and create a message.
This session helps you to incorporate “creativity” into your travels as well as at home. We walk, stop along the way, and slow down to notice and capture the details. It certainly gets you to see your surroundings in a new way. I’ll be doing more of these but really love to do small groups so if you and 3 or 4 of your friends would like to schedule one, contact me by email: email@example.com
